YOUR SCHOOL IS NOT A DEMOCRACY – David Adeniji
YOUR SCHOOL IS NOT A DEMOCRACY
See, your parents’ first interest is not how to grow your school. So don’t think you’re being a nice person, by seeking their approval every time you need to make decisions regarding growth. When the chips are down, they’ll even dump you for your closest competitor.

Your school fees is the major factor guaranteeing their stay. Even when you don’t increase your fees, the moment they can’t afford it anymore, they will leave you and you can’t stop them.
It’s good to seek their understanding, but I tell you, you don’t have to discuss every innovation that will promote your school with your parents. Your school is not a democracy. It’s a business. As long as it’s about money, they will object, however cheap you make it look. Will you keep tying down yourself to such objections, at the expense of other stakeholders? The choice is yours.
Here’s what you should do when you have an innovative idea that must go through no matter their opinion. Make sure you understand that process yourself, build your argument and pen them on paper, tell them the benefits of the new idea and how it benefits their children when implemented. Bottom line, the school is yours , not theirs, so do all you must, to be in charge!
