1.? Exact current enrollment figure. Not an estimate ….you must be able to quote the exact figure,  even in your dream. Maybe not the distribution, but the exact figure.

2.? The exact staff strength. No mincing words. The exact figure.

3.? Your wage bill. You could even quote this in your sleep if you’re asked. You know, sales or no sales, teachers’ pay must be sure banker. You don’t want trouble… or do you?

4.? How many school buses are shuttling, their drivers and their exact routes. You can’t take chances. The parents have entrusted the children’s lives to you. It’s a rare honour.

5.? If you run a boarding system or you have an eatery in school, and children consume there, you must always personally (or through aides) ensure safety, hygiene and quality in their kitchen. Food is life.

6.? Have an eagle view and a sharp countenance to decode fast and read your staff. Brood over your adolescent females. Ward off any potential attack from unsuspectingly ferocious male instructors or even students… Don’t mind me….You can’t be too careful. Also, the most delicate classes are the babies. The care givers there (teachers, assistants, cleaners) must have your own spirit – “`They’re my children“`. Every child represents value. Guard them jealously.

7.? You must be a no slacker with time, attitude and ethics. Teachers could just tag you ‘a ghost’…because you show up wherever it matters. For this, it’s better to be ‘tagged’ than be slack. Even if it’s not your nature, pretend to be it and you’d soon be. Remember you’re being trained too. Teachers are known to be no nonsense people.

8.? If possible, situate your office at a vantage location, so you have a bird view, where you see as many movements as possible. Suspect suspicious movements. Although you must always wear a smile, don’t get carried away.

9.? For more experienced Admins who have been teachers for a while, it’s not bad if you have slight knowledge, or at least notes for key subjects. That takes care of impromptu job dumpers. A smart block-in may be needed for few days before a new-timer comes in.

10.? Well, for you, weekends are not sacred. Be ready to sacrifice them once a while, so you tidy up some things and clean up some mess. That’s why you get the perks, you know?

11.? Lastly, and you have to figure out your own method for achieving this: Make sure every child gets their deserved results (no excuses) at the end of the term.
